Courses are designed to meet the needs of learners coming from various different situations such as:

  • Did you leave school early but wish return to education to develop your skills and prepare you for employment, self-employment or further education & training.

  • Currently employed but wishing to upskill. Our courses are tailored for high-demand employment areas such as in business and healthcare.

Our Courses encourage learners to develop their confidence and interpersonal skills as they ready themselves for the next step in their career, be it for the workplace or higher education institute.

Free:

  • Our courses are free to eligible applicants.

  • There is no charge for books or materials.

  • You will not lose any of your social welfare benefits.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility differs across the various courses. In general, people who are over 21years of age and in receipt of (or a dependent spouse is in receipt of) a relevant social welfare payment are eligible for full-time courses. Eligibility rules for part-time courses depend on age, employment and social welfare status. Foe example, Youthreach students who are aged between 18-21, who have been on the programme in the period since 1st March 2020, have finished their Youthreach programme and have begun the process of applying for Jobseekers Allowance or Jobseekers Benefit may be eligible for our courses.

Working: Limited part-time working is permitted in line with the demands of the course.

Extra financial supports: You may be entitled to meal and travel allowances. You may also be eligible to child care support.

Other supports: Free access to career guidance and counselling service.

Part-time courses (daytime and evening) available

Daytime courses will include Computer Studies, Career Preparation and Communications Skills.

Evening courses will include QQI Level 5 Healthcare and Book-keeping (Manual and Computerised) and English as a Second Language (both for Level 4 and beginners).

  • Healthcare and Book-keeping (QQI Level 5) and English (QQI Level 4): a weekly 3-hour evening course will run for 10 weeks from the end of September until December and for 10 weeks from January.

  • ESOL for Beginners: a weekly 2-hour evening course will run for 10 weeks from the end of September
